shampoo and conditioner recommendations

I just chopped off my long hair and want to keep my new short hair healthy. I've been using herbal essences bc I love the smell. I want to try something new and better. My sil recommended purology but its way too expensive at $25 a bottle. Any ideas for something good but not extremely expensive. Thanks ladies.

  • Buy the cheapest shampoo available . . . the detergent/cleansing ingredients are exactly the same in every last one of them . . . all the rest is extra (fragrance, etc.) and marketing and packaging that you end up paying for. Spend the extra on a conditioner formulated for your hair since these do vary.

  • Organix. You can find it at walmart, about $5 a bottle. I love the coconut milk one, it leaves my hair so healthy. And it's sulfate free!!

  • Suave. It's cheap and it is the closest pH level to your own hair. Don't use Pantene, it has wax to make your hair look shiney and healthy.

  • Nexxus is the best I have ever used. Makes my hair radiant! If you haven't tried it you should. Pantene also works great and is a lot cheaper. :)

  • pureology may be expensive, but you really don't need much at all! so you're not using it as fast. plus, it smells divine! for short hair, if you're the only one using a 10 oz bottle of pureology, i'd bet it would last 3-4 months. divide that by 3, and you're talking about $6-8/month. not bad...
