what is the best age to pierce a baby's ears?

my baby is 11 mos and i wanted to know if that was a good age or should i wait?

  • I think you kinda passed the baby piercing window, I think they usually do it at like 3 to 6 months... I would think an 11 month-old would be grabbing at them too much... You probably need to wait till she's older now, like 4 or 5?

  • Personally, I would wait until she is old enough to ask for earrings, and understands how it hurts and the care it involves.

  • Personally I would never pierce a baby's ears. Its so unnecessary IMO. And I agree with the 1st poster. I have an 11 month old son and he grabs at his ears ALL the time. Bad idea.

  • I'd wait until she 1) wants them 2) is old enough to understand that she shouldn't touch or mess with them. So around 4 or 5 years of age

  • When your child asks for them and can handle the care routine is when your child should get them pierced. And i DON"T mean only girls; many tween boys sport an earring so...
