37 weeks pregnant, cramping and pelvic pain

Ok so the other day i was riding in the car and i started feeling a period like cramp in my lower right back and lower stomach area as if i was about to start my period except for it started off as a light cramp and got more and more intense. It stopped once i got out of the car and started walking around, but it lasted for about 30 mins straight, no stopping or easing up. For the last few weeks i have been getting crampy every now and then but it lasts for long periods of time and doesnt come and go like contractions are suppose to. Also for about the last month or 2 i have been having really bad pubic/pelvic bone pain when i move, get out of bed, or do anything that involves moving my legs apart. When im sitting still it dont hurt though. Does anyone know whats going on or have had this before?

  • Most likely it's from the position of the baby, as the baby moves into your cervix you will have more pressure and "pain" in your pelvic area......this is normal, it just means that the baby is getting ready! As for 30 minute cramping,,,,,,it could be Braxton Hicks (false labor), normally it stops when you change positions and it doesn't come and go like regular contractions. They are just to "get your body ready" for labor. It could also be because of your cervix thinning out, this could happen anywhere from 4 weeks before you're due to sometime after you're due. If it is really bothering you ask your doctor at your next appointment just ease your mind.

    Good luck & Congratulations!
