Losing weight

Is walking 5 days a week at 25 mins each time a good way to get into shape and lose weight?

  • Walking is an awesome way to lose weight! Add in a little weight training and you should see some results! Good luck :)

  • Yes! you should exercise at least 20 minutes a day! and have a day or two off a week. Then you should up it after a while and then add a day after a while.

    I recommend doing intervals as well! If you want to lose weight, count your calories as well. is a good site to keep track of your calorie intake and you can track your weight and show progress of your fitness/weight loss.

  • It is a great start to a healthy lifestyle; you also need to eat healthy foods and drink lots of water. Here is what I think works best:

    Don’t buy junk food
    Drink at least 8 8oz glasses of water a day.
    To curb your appetite, eat an apple or big pile of veggies before meals.
    Eat 7-8 servings of fruits and vegetables a day, in at least 3 different colors.
    Eat 5-6 servings of whole grains a day.
    Eat at least two servings of legumes a day.
    Cut way back on (or eliminate) meat and dairy

  • Good for you!! That is a great start! you should also try mixing in weights too. Muscle will burn fat faster than just walkling but anything is better than nothing!

  • Yes, I lost tons of weight a few years ago just by walking everyday. I got addicted to it, but unfortunately I need to find that motivation again. Keep it up!!
