  • It is better to be hated for what you are, than loved for what you are not ... Be true to yourself above all else! Life is what you make it. No one can change that.

  • This too shall pass. Nothing lasts forever...ok maybe cockroaches do lol...but for the most part, nothing...good or bad times last forever. More importantly, no ONE lasts forever. I lost my dad this year and I cannot tell you how that drove this point home for me. It really set me on my butt. It will be one year on Monday that he has been gone:(

  • One of the most beautiful gifts in the world is the gift of encouragement. When someone encourages you, that person helps you over a threshold you might otherwise never have crossed on your own.The teacher who is indeed wise does not bid you to enter the house of his/her wisdom but rather leads you to the threshold of your mind.

  • I have a few that I consider to be equal -

Keep your priorities straight and enjoy life and the people you love, because you could lose it all in a second (learned when I was facing death when my kids were toddlers and I was in my early 20's).

Don't be afraid to live - failure is acceptable, apathy is not (we made this saying up to encourage our kids to not be afraid to try new things / experiences)

A quote - "You can ask me to forgive, but to ask me to forget is to ask me to give up a lifetime of experience." (learned by being a survivor of sexual and physical abuse growing up and becoming a well adjusted, happy person with good friends and a great family) Also, along those lines - you might have made me a victim in my past, but if I let you/ what you did control my present / future, then I'M making myself a victim now, and I refuse to victimize myself.

Most importantly - God ALWAYS loves me, even when I don't.
