  • When we camp for a week, one meal a day is done in the cast iron dutch oven over the fire - chicken & veggies, roast & potatoes, stews, deer roast. Lunches are leftovers (we're camper campers - love the fridge) or quick easy things like sandwiches, hot dogs, burgers, pizza pockets (the ones you make with 2 slices of bread & pizza toppings, using the pie irons). We typically have big late-ish breakfasts so lunch is usually glossed over.

  • Shells and Cheese
Hot Dogs - Those are best over the fire! Soo good!
    Cold Meat Sandwiches
    Bacon, Sausage, Eggs, and Toast
    Chips and Dip
Cowboy casarole (Breakfast Cowboy Casarole is good too) PM me if you're interested.
    Pulled Pork Sandwiches
Left over meats are good too and great for the cowboy casarole. If you have any Roast Beef, Ham, chicken, or turkey. That can be made into a lot of different things.

  • My boys always loved to do 'foil pockets' meat, potatoes, carrots onionsall nicely wrapped up in two layers of heavy duty foil. Bury in the coals for 40 minutes or so(depending on how large you left the veggies) don't forget the salt and pepper, for us garlic powder too.!

  • I like to prepare as many meals as possible in advance and freeze them .... If you put them in a gallon ziplock bag and lay them flat to freeze, you can fit a ton in the cooler. They also work good to keep everything else cold!

Some ones that freeze good and are easy to reheat are Sloppy Joes, Hamburger Stroganoff (sauce only, add noodles), shredded pork, Tuna Noodle Casserole, Chicken & Dumpling filling (add dumplings), and Taco Soup. Also, if you freeze meat with marinade, it is really good when it thaws out and is great on the BBQ!

  • Kabobs, Hot Dogs, Polish Sausage, Steaks, Hamburgers
Breakfast is usually either doughnuts, pancakes, honeybun cake or scrambled eggs w/leftover steak or sausage mixed in with cheese.
Lunch we always just do sandwich stuff and chips.
