How cold should my hampster's water be?

I change his water every other day, but I keep it at room temp and I was just curious if he needs colder water than that? Thanks!

  • I wouldn't think it should be colder than room temp. Of course my grandmother instilled in us that no one's drink should be colder than room temp!

  • HAMSTERS aren't fussy. :-) Our hamsters always drank tap water. Don't know what the temperature was.

  • Hamsters won't really care one way or the other as long as it's water! We have guinea pigs- we give them cold water but I'm sure it's room temp by the next evening when we refill it!
