  • Don't worry, the epi will relax you plenty!
Congrats on the soon to be born baby!

  • You could try visualization whereby you would close your eyes and see a picture of your new baby or something else happy in your life. Breathing exercises can help as well - take slow breaths in through your nose and blow them out through your mouth. Both provide very good relief from stress. Good luck and enjoy your new baby. We'll be here if you need us again. :-)

  • If you don't like the idea of it, you don't have to get an epidural. Best wishes! =)

  • I'd go into it with an open mind. If you feel like you can deal with the pain, and you're nervous about getting an epidural, there's nothing that says you have to get one. If the pain is completely unbearable, then you'll probably get over your nervousness regarding the epi pretty quickly. But you don't have to make a decision today, or even when you get to the hospital. Just take it as it comes.

  • If you get to the point where you ask for it and really need it you should have no problems

  • Think of it this way. ten seconds of epidural needle stinging, or 10 hours of painfull ass labor epidural is like 1 percent of the pain level contractions are :) Just try to relax and know its saving you alot of pain :) And who knows your labor may go so smooth and easy you may not need one! Good luck!
