My mom is getting a tummy tuck, should I take that day off from work?

I'm not doing any of her after care, unless absolutely needed, but I work midnight til 8am and it'll take me 30min to an hour to get to the doctors office. Her surgery starts at 6am and ends around 10am.

Should I take the day off or get off early to be there. I know my uncle has her living will but he is 5 hours away so if something happens I need to be there to make decisions. Mind you this is her 4th surgery, 1st elective, but 4th surgery so I know with each time the risk is higher.

Her ex-bf is going to be there but he can't make any decisons legally. She isn't as worried as I am but being that this is elective and her 4th surgery I dunno If I should be there or not

  • Be there for her, it is nice to have a familiar face when you are in pain!
