How do I reinforce my loveseat cover's back seam?

My cats love climbing inside the front and back of my loveseat. I thought to curtail this by covering it with a couch cover. They, somehow, managed to rip the front back inseam wide open and they're back inside the loveseat's front. I've placed the furniture against the wall to keep them outta the back. I don't have a sewing machine and have considered buying bias tape and hand stitching. HELP!

  • I think you can buy an iron-on mending tape. Something like that might work.

  • How about a stapler? That's how mine is attached. It was like that when we bought it.

  • There is a mending glue that is carried in some of the drugstores and other stores in the "TV products" section. It is supposed to really work.
