  • One of my favorites...crock pot bison stew (you can use beef too). 2 lbs bison (or beef) stew meat, 4-6 red potatoes, 1 onion, baby carrots (however many you want), 1 box of beef stock, 2 bay leaves, 1/2 tsp salt. Brown the stew meat (coat in a little flour, brown on all 4 sides in a hot skillet just til crusted brown). Put in the crock pot with the potatoes (cut into 1/4), onion cut into 1/8, carrots cut in half, bay leaves, salt, and beef stock. Cook on low for 8-10 hours or high for 5-6 hours. Easy, and great for those hot days when you don't want to heat up the house!

  • Another crockpot idea. Buy a 5-8 lb pork shoulder roast. Put in crockpot with 3 quarts chicken broth. Cook for 6-8 hours on low. Remove roast, shred, & mix with BBQ sauce for pulled pork sandwiches.

  • OOh you can do that pork shoulder as a roast too, really good. Put in the crock pot with some chunks of potatoes and carrot, a little broth, and a packet of lipton onion soup mix. cook on low 8-10 hours.
