Why do people type "ne" for "any"?

Seriously... it's ONE letter shorter! Are we that lazy? Just a pet peeve of mine.

  • It has nothing to do with being lazy. People do it alot when they text cause its shorter and easier. i mean does that mean when someone puts lol they are being lazy cause they dont want to write laugh out loud its just how they wanna do it whats the big deal with that?

  • Well i guess it depends on your age. The younger generation uses n e and also when i was in school and u couldnt text u had to hurry up texting or ud get caught saying n e took less time even if it was a letter shorter so after doing that in ur high school yrs im sure kids got us to it!

  • I understand that it's text-speak, but there's a different between texting and writing an answer on a forum. There's plenty of space here to write legible answers, and you can't assume that the people who are reading your answers can understand your abbreviations.

  • I honestly never see that. I see other abbreviations, but not that one.
