How many naps??

How many naps does a 21 month old usually have a day? I only get one nap out of him but sometimes he goes a day without a nap and goes to sleep earlier

  • My ds cut himself down to one nap a day at 9 months. He just turned 2 a couple of weeks ago and still takes one, which will last anywhere from 1-4 hours, depending on how much sleep he got the night before.

  • The daycare children I have start moving to one nap a day after about 12-15 months depending on the needs of the child. But by 18 months we pretty much are on a one nap a day routine.

  • Also, if bed time is becoming too much of a battle, then I'd let him give up the nap. You could have him do "quiet time" (looking at books, etc) in his room for a bit to help refresh himself instead.
