  • She loved the carrots and bananas. It's all she ate until nearly a year and we started her on more real food. She'd spit it all out except the carrots and bananas.

  • it can take 10-15 tries with a new food for a baby to like it. keep trying! try every flavor you can find, or make your own and add some mild spices, NOT salt.

  • At 9 months old I just started giving them whatever I had on my plate. DD's favorite turned out to be homemade chicken enchiladas!

  • He loves everything but peas, lol. I even put him in his little "Give pea a chance" bib, but no luck, lol! My son is also 9 months.Just try different bits of things. Anything but nuts, eggs, strawberries, citrus fruits, tomatoes, and fish should be fine. There may be other things she should avoid, so I would ask her doctor. I'm sure I'm leaving some things out. Obviously exclude anything that could be a choking hazard as well. Introduce them slowly that you can see if she does have an allergy, and once you know she doesn't, just offer a variety of foods in different flavors or textures. :)

  • Peas, green beans, apples, pears, zucchini, butternut squash, avocado. I found if I mixed something I knew they liked with the new item it was easier for them to like it. So I'd do like half apples and half green beans for a few feedings, then 1/4 apple 3/4 green beans for a few and then just green beans. Worked really well for us.

  • Avocado, mashed bean, really just about anything that you are eating, mashed up.

Be sure to avoid the allergy trigger foods. This is not a complete list: before age 1, no soy, dairy, wheat, citrus, egg white, strawberries; before age 2 no honey, chocolate, nuts

  • we would mix green beans w/ pears, i remember that. we just steamed up and pureed about any kind of fruit and veggie you could think of. and later bought jarred meat baby food but i don't remember if he ever liked those.

wholesomebabyfood.com might give you some ideas.

  • The sky is the limit with table food. We've done all of the above plus asparagus, cauliflower, blueberries, peaches, apricot, guacamole, hummus, 3 bean chili, kiwi, apples, persimmon, melon, bean burritos, broccoli, beets, squash, cherries, grapes (round things cut up obviously), peas, etc etc. the only thing we avoid are dairy, fish, cereal, meats and nuts (jar meat is disgusting to say the least).

I let my baby self feed for the most part. I never puree food. The only mush she gets is things that come already mushed.

  • Yup all of the above plus, beets, parsnips,
You can try putting some stuff in a self feeder, or depending on her age, seeing how she does w/ finger foods. .No need to mash.
