  • Lower, because your period is your body getting rid of the egg that wasnt fertilized on that month, your more fertile 2 weeks after your period.

  • I agree with the PP with Taking Charge of Your Fertility. When you are on your period it means you've already released a egg and you are shedding the lining of the uterus because a fertilized egg did not attach to it. A baby needs the liner for nutrients while the placenta is being formed, so without it, you can't get pregnant. Some women ovulate at different times of the month, so if you learn how to watch the signs from your body, you'll know your most fertile times. You can learn SOOO much just by observing the signs your body gives you. Definitely a good read for EVERY woman!

  • I agree with the two girls who tell you about the site, "Taking Charge of your Fertility" I just downloaded it all and will put it into a binder to keep referring to .....lots of great info. and tips! You need to 'know' your body in order to know when you are at your most fertile time (which is only 3 or 4 days each month....which some women don't even realize) I am a nurse but have still learned some new things myself! Worth reading for sure!

  • You are much more unlikely to get pregnant on your period. This is because ovulation USUALLY happens a week or two after your period. Once an egg is released during ovulation you are more likely to get pregnant. There are many signs you can look for, to know when you are conceiving, such as a higher basil body temperature, egg white cervical mucous, and even the position of your cervix can be an indicator of ovulation. has a fountain of information that might be helpful for you. Good luck.
