Do you let your kid 'lick' the bowl after you make cake or cookies, etc.. ?

  • Yes I do, the chances of getting salmonella from store bought eggs is pretty much nil. And I have taken a food safety course (and passed!).

  • Shhh, no, that's for me to do, lol.

    I usually give them the mixers.  But since there are only 2 mixers and I have 4 kids someone ends up licking the spoon and someone gets the bowl (after I've taken what I want...I'm a meanie).

    The chances of getting sick from the eggs in batter are so slim it's not worth worrying about for me.  I did it as a kid and never once got sick, neither did my brother or my mom or her siblings or anyone I have ever met in my entire life.

  • My kids are a little older now (14 and 16)l, but somtimes they still want too. I know now they should'nt have since the raw eggs, but they never got sick and loved every the answer to your question is yes I let my kids lick the bowl......ingnorance was bliss.....

  • i'll let her lick the spoon a few times. i am afraid she will get sick from the raw egg though. daddy on the other hand...

  • no. I scrape every bit out with a rubber spatula.

    I used to before I took my serve safe cert. After you heard the words explosive vomit and bloody diarhea a 1000 times in a four hour period, you kind of lose the raw egg cravings...
