This may be a really really dumb question...

Okay, so I know People with a dark complexion don't necessarily get sun burn but they would benefit from a FULL spectrum sunscreen since UVA rays age the skin...right...?

  • Darker complected folks can get skin cancer just as well as lighter complected ones. Not as EASILY, but it still happens! WEAR YOUR SUNSCREEN!!!!!

  • a lot of pigment protects the skin from the suns harmful rays, that is why some white people get tan. in my opinion, you would be much worse off by putting sunscreen on your skin. look at the ingredients on a bottle of sunscreen. there are some crazy chemicals in that stuff, and your skin will absorb it. recent studies have shown a correlation between cancer and sunscreen.

  • Some dark skin people DO get sun burn - some don't.
I have heard many times that everyone nees protectin from the sun for skin cancer and so on...but I have also heard that it is sun burns that damage your skin and put you at risk for skin cancer. Also while darker skin people can get skin cancer, it is much more rare.

  • All people benefit from sunscreen. If you are worried about the chemicals in sunscreen then look for an all natural one.

  • Well I am one of those dark complected people. MY husband and kids are very light skinned. They all wear a 60 sun block and get burned still. I wear a two and am browned up nicely. I never burn. I still wear a hat and but a sun block on my face.
If your are dark then sunscreen can prevent burning. I would have gotten a burn except the two helps prevent it. So yeah people can benefit from sun screen no matter how dark you are.

  • Sunscreen doesn't benefit anyone. Sun burn is caused by stupidity, wearing sunglasses and other things that trick the body into not really realising how sunny it is because the eyes are covered and of course lifestyle.
