If you lost a baby at 17 weeks, do u think the doctor lets you hold the baby?

  • I had a friend who lost a baby around that time and they let her hold the baby. I guess it will depend on the doctor.

  • I honestly don't know if the doctor would let you or not but I think they should. But I did want to say that I am very sorry for you loss!!!

  • Technically yes,but it depends on the condition of the baby too and how she gave birth to him/her. Some doctors don't want to traumatize you if the child is deformed. I'd be pushing for holding it regardless.

    honestly when I lost my baby I didn't want to say any words.

  • they will give a keepsake with the child's feet prints on a paper if you ask

  • In a lot of cases, the staff will ask. In the older days it was thought to do more harm than good, but nowadays, it's considered to be an integral part of the grieving process.
