What age was your child when he/she was fully potty trained?

My daughter will be 2 in August and she's not even close to being potty trained, so I'm just wondering.

  • 2 1/2. I let her take the lead after showing her what the potty was and what it was used for. I told her that she needed to be out of diapers by her 3rd birthday if she wanted me to sign her up for school. She woke up one day at around 2 1/2 dry and that was it. It's so much quicker and easier and, I think better for the child, if you don't push and let them do it when they're ready.

  • One was 2.5 and one was almost three (two boys) Wait til she's REALLY ready and it will go easier and faster.

  • 3 and 4. Both girls. My 7 yo still has never had a dry night (she was 4 before she had any interest in getting out of diapers). 6 yo is now completely night trained.
