  • Is he showing any other autistic tendencies? Just throwing the idea out there.

  • He has probably learned that it muffles sound and also changes how he hears himself when he talks.

  • this is one of many many many things to look for in autism
just having a few means nothing, it is when you look at dozens of things that it starts to add up trust your ped (and i say IF because ours was an idiot, well he still is but not with our child we switched)
if you trust your ped, ask, or go on line and look into signs, just covering ears does not say autism, not one way or the other

my daughter DOES have autism and she does NOT cover her ears ever, so if you have concern, ask, research, ask some more, trust instincts

and it is probably not anything to worry about, but check out,

better to feel silly for asking than feeling stupid for not

  • My son does that all the time he is 2 years old. He has had his ears check, many times. He is fine, doctor says he might have sensative ears. But if you are worry talk to your doctor. like i said i am always taking him in for his ear so check and check again if you are worried it doesnt hurt to be safe :)
