Has any one have a baby head down and engaged but breech? What position was your baby in?I am confused?

I thought when a baby was breech that means he has his butt down toward the vagina?

  • Does that mean I may have to have him c -section or will he turn around?

  • I don't understand either. Breech is butt or feet first as far as I know. Head down and engaged sounds normal to me. I'm confused.

  • could be that baby is head down but not down near the cervix, like maybe sitting at an angle with the shoulder sitting on the cervix.

  • I didn't think a baby could be head down AND breech. Breech is feet or butt first.

  • It means that his head is down where it's supposed to be but he's facing up instead of down. The back of his skull is against your back......meaning you will have back labor unless he turns himself so he's facing up.

  • The doctor told me he is head down and engaged but I also heard he was breech. Maybe I just misunderstood because it makes no sense.

  • But it is weird they described it as such. Maybe they mispoke.

  • In that case, you should spend some time on your hands and knees, even if it's while you watch tv. You and gravity will encourage the baby to rotate face down.
