Do you still have girl's night out?

I miss my girlfriends and wish we could get together but it is so hard to get away with family commitments, etc.

  • Yes I try to plan a "girls night out" at least twice a month; however, I am single at this stage anyway. If you are married, those get togethers with "the girls" is important because you need to keep and nurture those relationship; however, you must be in a "mature" marital relationship so that both parties are supportive of one another. Generally, most couples are friends with other couples so that the girls can get together, leaving the guys to watch football or something; and everyone knows where everyone else is, etc. I have a very dear friend who is happily married and has three daughters. She allows herself a "girls night" out about once a month; however, the lives of their whole family circles around our church so that her husband is fully supportive when "the girls" set aside a fun day for breakfast and shopping, or something like that.

  • we had one this weekend. it was nice and very much needed. sometimes we need a break and you shouldnt feel bad about it. im sure your bd/so/dh or whatever will be ok with watching the kids for a night or 2.

  • We do every now and again. We do more of everyone getting babysitters and all the couples going out as a group though.

  • Only if my husband isn't home. Meaning I won't choose to hang out with a friend over my husband. One night he was working late so I did dinner & a movie with my best friend. Luckily my oldest is 13 and can babysit.

  • Just had a much needed girls night after a LONG spell without.

I LOVE my husband... but there is something refreshing about girl friends.
I miss them terribly, but we all have such full busy lives it is hard to get together a lot. Plus, my 'couple friends' and my 'girl friends' are not exactly the same since couple dynamics can be hard.

  • Only when I go back to my home state. We are a Air Force family and I don't associate with too many people outside of work. So whenever I make a trip back home I try to get with as many as my friends as I can. Next Monday we are all going on a cruise together, I am so excited no kids, just my friends for a week!

  • yes, I belong to a monthly bunco group ,it has been going for about 10 years. After the kids got so much older one of the dads organized a poker night at the same time.I also belong to a monthly book club,we alternate one month at a restaurant the next at a house everyone brings appys and wine. Then occasionally I just go out with the girls.Husband is free to go out with friends though usually he and a friend go see what ever sci-fi or war movie is out.He looks forward to the bunco he used to watch endless old star treks now he plays poker but he still gets to watch all those variations on star trek or dr.who when I go to book club.We got married right before starting grad school so we had no married friends to hang with.So for 30 years always have had times away from each other  with just our friends.
