Why are the flags at half-staff?

Starting fom !uly 4th on through today, the flags in our town hae been at half-mast. I haven't heard anything about us being in mourning. Anyone know of any other reasons flags are displayed half-mast?

  • According to halfstaff.org:

Presidential proclamation issued on the 30th of June:

American Flags to be flown at half staff in Honor of Senator Byrd. Now - Saturday July 3, 2010 – Half Staff
    Sunday July 4, 2010 – Full Staff
    July 5, 2010 - July 6, 2010 – Half Staff
July 7th - Return Flags to Full Staff

  • We are celebrating the life of the Bigot and KKK member Byrd. Pretty disgusting if you ask me.

  • Steph,

What's funny to me is I have been telling the libs on her for a long time that Byrd was a former member of the KKK. When he was alive, and a democrat voting for Obama-care, and other democrat things, he was o.k, they never said a word.

But when he died, they sure were cutting him down then, he can't vote any longer, guess it makes a big difference.

  • Oopsy daisy!! I didn't fly my flags at half-mast! If I had of they would have been in mourning for the country not the senator.
