He gets timeout when he does something bad. Like back talking, lying,not listening,ect... Well one thing is standing facing the wall with your hands up on your sides. The other one is leaning against the wall like your sitting on a chair. Well I use to do this in elementary in P.E. What do you think?? Its for a four year old.Answer Question

The answer to your question is YES. What you describe in not appropriate for any age. The purpose of discipline is to teach children what is acceptable behavior. To be effective, it needs to take into consideration a child's age and be directly related, if at all possible, to the behavior you are trying to correct. There is no "one size fits all" for problem behavior. Each of the issues you mention requires a different approach.
