how should a baby's poop be

I know its a weird question but my daughter is nine months old and poops at least once a day. Its usually always very soft and messy. Some days it will be very watery. Today it was both and she has a "raw" mark near her "poop hole" (I don't know what's an appropriate use of words here). I've started to put balmex on it. I have grown up with all sorts of digestive problems so I'm just hoping she's not going to have any of that.

  • She may be lactose intolerant or something. If she's 8 months then she should be going to her pedi soon for a check-up, right? Bring it up with her doc and see what he/she says about it.

  • I meant 9 months, not 8.

  • Yeah she has an appointment in a couple weeks so I'll ask. I'm just worried about her digestive tract.

  • What does she eat? Breastmilk, formula, table food?
