to help America recover when they can prevent Dems from steam rolling everything next year and then when a Republican President is elected in 2012?

  • The biggest thing they can do is vote to cease funding for ObamaCare, and kill Cap and Trade. They SHOULD also give ALL businesses a tax holiday--6-12 months, and LOWER corporate taxes--to slightly less than Ireland, Mexico and China, to encourage manufacturing to return to the US, and for businesses to establish their headquarters here.

We need to be able to PRODUCE things that generate jobs and income if we are ever to recover!!! Really...it's THAT simple!!! :o)

  • I think they will have to get some reality. They have to quit spending, stop the earmarks and all the pork. They will have to get a serious plan to get the fiscal health back on track before they can really tackle anything else. They might have the best plans ever, but if we can't afford to implement them, then they do us no good.

You mean the DEMOCRATIC controlled Congress since 2007!!!! You DO realize that the President is merely a figurehead--a poster boy--"a ribbon cutter/big check presenter" if you will--and that it is CONGRESS that creates and votes on the bills/legislation, don't you?! LOL

  • Republicans are not so fiscally responsible! They can claim it but history proves otherwise. Reagan, Bush, etc all spent money they should not have.

Real GDP grew more in five years under Reagan (23 percent cumulative growth
After four years, 4 million more jobs were created under Reagan than under Bush/Clinton.

  • sweet,

The recession did not start till after the democrats took over the congress & the senate. What started it was the bubble burst on housing. What started the housing bubble? Democrats Barney Frank & Chris Dodd ordered the banks to loan money to poor people for houses that they could not afford.

Bush also ordered numerous people down to the congress to testify that  Fannie May & Freddie Mac were in trouble making bad loans. Barney Frank, Chris Dodd & Maxine Walters told the Bush people that they was full of crap, there was nothing wrong with with Fannie & Freddie.

Now you just keep spinning it, but these are the facts.

  • Yeah, I know what you are saying Mom2Just1.
I really don't see how Republicans have been so good for America. The only thing that made George Bush a favorite was his good old boy appearance and accent. The facts don't change: The war that Bush and Cheney got us into has bankupted our Government. Billions of dollars are spent on fighting for no good reason. And their deregulation of the Oil Industry has resulted in this horrific oil spill. So , I'm not looking forward to a Republican President of he will be anything like Bush. Ugh.

Sisteract, I didn't bring him up and even though he was decades ago, we can learn something from him.
