  • My son was 6 months and my daughter was 5 1/2 months

  • at 4 1/2 months my dd could sit on her own if I sat her up, now at just under 6 months she can get herself into a sitting position with no help.

  • I think Nathan was able to sit on his own at about 5 months.

    DD2 - almost 5 months.

  • He started to sit on his own at 4 months. Did it well for long periods of time by 5 months. Could get into the sitting position from crawling by 6 months.

  • she was sitting up at 4 months...i'd never even heard of the bumbo seats.

  • Bumbos are dangerous. Bad for development too.

    3 months my baby could balance for a mere few seconds if I sat her in position
    4 months she could balance longer and started to do the sitting tripod after I put her into position
    5 months she could balance if I sat her up and day by day got stronger and stronger and could with effort get into sitting position herself.
    5 1/2 to 6 months she could sit easily and worked out how to get from sitting to crawling

  • Mine began sitting up between 5 to 6 months. I have four children.

  • 6 months for my son. My 5 month old daughter can sit unassisted for a few seconds.
