How old was your LO when they were feeding themselves using silverware? And they were doing it well. No spills.

I didn't know what section to put it in... so I guess it'll be Food&Drink!

  • It depends on which child of mine you are talking about.

    1st child: Age 2
2nd child: He is 5 and still messy, lol
3rd child: She is almost 3 and does better then my 5 yr old, lol
4th child: She is almost a month and we are taking a break from her feeding herself with a spoon.

  • 12 months. He loved to use utensils. He hated messiness.

  • My daughter is 8 and still has spills with stuff. No kid is gonna be a certain age. My 6 year old usually does better than my 8 year old. My 4 year old and 20 month old, Forget it! They prefer to use their utensils but only when they don't drop things and spill them.

  • I'm 36 and I still make messes--my husband says he can't take me anywhere!!

  • LOL. Okay, I guess I didn't think of it like that.
My son is 2, and is having a difficult time with the whole coordination thing. His pedi said not to fret too much, since he was premature and all that, and it's normal. He turned 2 a month ago.

  • I meant to say my 4th child is almost a year not a month. LOL

  • My daughter will be 2 tomorrow and she does pretty well. There are still occasional spills, but most are intentional...little weasel! lol

  • My first learned at about 18 months, my second was definitely trying by 12 months, and my 3rd is 12 months and shows no interest in them at all. Each kid is different. I think as long as he is trying, he's good. :)

  • My son is 3 y/o and does pretty well. Still a little spills depending on what we are having. He would rather have finger food still today. :)
