How many times do you have to say to your kids, "Go to bed!" before they do it?

I'm talking about older kids like old enough to just get up and go by themselves with out needing you to help. Because I'm on my 5th "go to bed" and they are still not moving.

  • My stepsons didn't need to be told. They knew what their bed time was and they knew what they needed to do. They knew not to mess with the rules or there would be consequences.

  • Just the once. I say time for bed and she does her stuff (potty, teeth, jammies) and gets in bed. But she's always been good about listening and following the rules.
