  • Yes it can, a mom I know is carrying twins and just went into preterm labor because she was dehydrated!

  • Yes it can and so can caffeine. Actually that is what I did to tip off labor in my fourth kid. I drank Mountain dew only for 48 hrs. Dehydrated the hell out of me and the caffeine acts as a uterine stimulant. It worked.

  • Yes, that is one of the leading reasons women go to the hospital with preterm contractions. According to my Lamas instructor

  • Yes, have you ever been dehydrated? It causes muscle cramps, and the uterus is a big muscle, so ... you get the idea.

  • Yes! It can cause preterm labor! That is VERY dangerous.

  • Yes it can. I was in labor for 10 hrs before I went to the hospital with my son and they were going to send me home because I was only 2cm dialated which I had been for 4 weeks until the dr checked my urine sample and said I needed to be started on fluids because I was so dehydrated. I started dialating after that and I had him 9hrs later. Be careful because it can start labor but it can also stop you from dialating.
