  • But lightbulbe and crazymom21- are these laws regarding food not in the Bible? These "food laws" are outlined in Leviticus (chapter 11) and Deuteronomy (chapter 14).

I never did understand why some Biblical "laws" were followed and others ignored.

  • they are "food laws" in the old testament but we are under a new covenant through Christ and He told Peter that he (we) could eat them (Romans 14:14-18). So I would have to say... "unclean" food by itself will not send you to hell.

  • Yep it changed in romans :) the bible also forbids women from wearing mens clothes. Does this mean I can't wear pants? No it means I can't wear mens pants but they make pants for women :)

  • By the time of Jesus, the great moral principles God had given to Moses in the Ten Commandments had been turned into hundreds of ceremonial rules. People thought they were living holy lives if they just obeyed all those rules. But many people found enough "loopholes" to obey all the rules and still live wicked and greedy lives (Matthew 23:23-28).
