Stroke during Pregnancy

How common is it to have a stroke during pregnancy? If you are due next month I guess around 34 weeks or so. How about high blood pressure? (this is not me, my SIL had very high blood pressure her bottom number was 19 and her top was somewhere in the 200's.) What sort of damage can that have on the baby? Very worried because It is so hard to get any information from them about how she feels right now.

  • It sounds more like she could have pre - eclampisia and not a stroke. If she has this she will more than likely be induced before her due date. I am not sure of the effects it would have on the baby but I know it isn't the best thing to have during pregnancy.
