friends for my kids

at what age do kids reallystart to have friends and go over each others houses? my kids are 6 and 8 we do not have kids on the street for them to play with. except 3 kids that go to their grandmothers twice week (during school year only) I just feel bad b/c no one from their classes call and ask to come over, but my kids haven't really asked to invite anyone over. I did set up a ply date but that did not lead to anything. should I be worried or just give it time.

  • If they have not started asking they probably just are not ready yet.

  • We don't have kids on the street either. So no bike riding or hang outs going on our street. But last year my daughter joined Girl Scouts and has become pretty close to the girls. My daughter was also nervous about calling other kids so I walked her through it ...and told her if she knew a kid or two she really wanted to talk to she could give them our number.

  • I would just give it time. There is no set age, they will make friends when they are ready.
