  • I like a land vacation because you have more choices and flexibility. A toddler would get squirrelly on a cruise I think and someone would be stuck in the (small) stateroom while he/she naps. We are huge Disney fans, they have some promos now but it is still pricey. Or what about a national park or something outdoorsy? Or something historical? The beach? The Oregon coast is gorgeous, family-friendly, not too hot and relatively inexpensive (no sales tax).

  • A cruise seems like it might have better accomadations for each family member. I have not been on a cruise yet, but it seems like it has tons of options for every age.

  • my kids loved Dollywood...not sure if teens would though, i didn't get a chance to look at all but the kid rides. as for a cruise, i'd be worried my kids would go overboard. they're climbers...climbing the rail would be something my son would try.

  • We're going to San Antonio, TX. LOVE it there, there's so much to do. We go there often, so we will be skipping Sea World this time, but we will be going to Schlitterbahn (HUGE water park), the Riverwalk, historic Gruene, and maybe tubing on the river. My kids are 6, 11, and 13. We've loved San Antonio since I was a kid. My kids love the San Antonio zoo, riverwalk, Sea World, schlitterbahn, Natural Bridge caverns (right outside san antonio), and there's a wildlife safari but I can't remember the name of it. there's SO much stuff to do there!

  • cruises are great- the kids activities are fantastic and all age appropriate! The kids will have as much (maybe more) fun than you!!! They will get to see new countries and only unpack once. Very educational but they don't know it :)
