Fire!!

So I nearly set my house on fire today because I had a grease fire and I paniced and had no idea what to do. Did you know you put sakt on a grease fire to put it out??

  • I keep a kitchen extinguisher, but you can also use baking soda, salt, or sugar I think? You can also put a lid on the pot.

  • I have a kitchen fire extinguisher for that. FYI: Flour is actually combustible and not a good idea.

  • actually DON'T use flour! it is considered flammable, because of the fine particle size.

  • You need to keep a small fire extinguisher in your kitchen at all times--read the label but most "kitchen" ones are rated for grease fires. They are inexpensive and can be found pretty much anywhere...

  • If the fire is still contained in a pan, you can put a lid on it to snuff it out. But buy a kitchen fire extinguisher!
