  • Mine isn't that good anymore. Seems like they all keep making bad decisions and are not people I want my DS around. Just wondering if I am the only one?

  • I wish I could say there wasn't one. But my children love my family & my in-laws, so we can't get rid of them... We are hoping if we move far enough away they will talk to us less... So far we all live within a few blocks - I HATE it! I didn't like my family before I had kids or got married - I don't like them now.

  • My relationship hasn't really changed. My DH hangs out with my dad a lot which is cute. My dad had 3 daughters and the 2 son in laws he got from my sisters were assholes so he lucked out with my hubby. I've never really been overly close with my family. My middle sister and I have definitely had a better relationship. My oldest sister is a useless headcase married to an alcoholic so I don't talk to her unless I have to. Ah dysfunction...thy name is my life...lol

  • Same with my parents, worse with one of my sisters who is a mother of 3 and a drug addict. She is a mess. I always thought I'd feel sorry for her and all she has done once I had a kid, but it only made me understand how much she is screwing up her own kid's lives. It makes me angry to think about.

  • My relationship with my mother is better but I think that has more to do with moving far away although giving her a grandchild definitely made her like me better. I have no relationship with my sister, she hasn't spoken to me in a couple of years now. Hopefully she'll grow up some day and get a home of her own, maybe even a family, and she'll realize that I'm in the right. Long story short, she came to visit and did a bunch of stupid stuff like leaving open vodka and fruit punch cocktails within reach of my toddler and hanging wet stuff over wood railings then hacked my email and realized I'd talked to a friend about it. Maybe when she has a house and a kid she'll realize that her behavior was unreasonable.
