  • I had the same problem with my eldest boy and to be honest we just started training him, in my opinion at 2 they are ready no matter whether they are showing signs or not. Just take it very slowly, don't push him too much and see how he deals with it. Good luck!

  • in other countries ie; japan they potty train at 9 months. their behavior is learned and 0-2 is the most important. so it would only seem natural to potty train, take off bottle and pacifier, and other "baby' habbits the sooner you throw out the diapers the sooner he will potty trained if you wait to long then it becomes and 'saftey' issue they are affraid of the potty so good luck!!

  • Children aren't born showing an interest. You have to start it. Our oldest turned 2 in June. We began with being very specific about what mommy and daddy were doing on the potty. Then let him try on his own potty after watching us for a week. You must use consistency and be specific in your word choices. He tells us when he needs to potty, he is in underwear at all times when he is awake. The first 3 days we kept him naked from the waist down and took him in every 20 minutes, then every 30 until he looked like he could hold it longer. Some disagree, but we give him a gummy each time he tells us he needs to go, makes it in time and flushes and washes hands without drama. Each day gets easier. Each morning (he still sleeps in a diaper) I get him up and take him immediately to the potty. Then I start out the day reminding him that pee pee and poo poo in the potty gets candy. :) Patience and persistence.

  • Just give it a good shot, he'll probably catch on, 2yrs old is old enough to get it. Mine was pee trained by 2 yrs old and he didn't even speak, it was just #2 that took him forever, lol. Good luck!!

  • We started introducing the potty and books, etc at 2. Oldest son was all trained at 2.5 and youngest son was almost 3. When they are really ready it doesn't take long..

  • dont worry! age 2 isnt the magic number. If he doesnt show any interest now, he will eventually! If you'd like to start introducing him to the world of potty training, buy some potty dvd's and books, and when you have to go, take him to the bathroom with you and narrate what you are doing.
