If one of your children were gay, would you

rather be your son or daughter? Not that anyone has a choice over who they are or their children, just curious about responses.

  • It wouldn't matter to me at all. But for the sake of the question, I would say my daughter, b/c I think she would have an easier time in the world - I think (not sure, just suspect) that gay women face less discrimination/harassment than gay men.

But truly, it would not matter to me at all.

  • Well I have a son and a daughter and I would be happy if either one or both of them were gay.
Gay or straight, they will face harassment and ignorance in their life and they will have to face discrimination based on many factors. Being gay is just another one to throw into the mix.
There is nothing for them to be ashamed of and I'll make damn sure they know it.

If they are confident and secure with who they are then a few ignorant assholes wont break their spirit. They'll be better than that.

  • I'm not really understanding the logic of the grandchildren part either...if your daughter is a lesbian she will be with other women...not making babies. They could find a donor, true. But your gay son could find a surrogate mother and have a child that would also be biological.

  • "i would say no parent would want their child to be gay"

Honestly the thought never crossed my mind. I know what has though--- Every single day I hope that my daughters grow up to find the wonderful love like I have found with there father. I don't have hopes that they find a man, or a woman. Just love. Great, wonderful, powerful, perfect LOVE. No gender assigned. I would love either one of my girls the same as I do now. PLUS i would admire there strength and determination to pursue something that makes them happy- no matter what society thinks.

OP- I only have two girls as of now, so I would have to answer the question daughter

  • i dont think that is a answerable question, i would say no parent would want their child to be gay but if they were i think it would more be about supporting them for who they are, not which sex you would prefer them to be if they were
