i dont want a jealous baby

im about to have another baby and my first born is only 13 months... is there a way to make sure he doesn't get jealous seeing me with another baby?

  • Make sure that he's as involved as possible. have him "help" you feed the baby or change the baby's diaper. Jealousy comes from a feeling of being replaced. Do your best to show him his role in the baby's life and that will prevent it. There will be some at first when he realizes that the baby isn't going away, but with time that will fade.   • Include him as much as possible and make sure dad makes special time for him. If the new baby gets presents keep token stuff for him on hand too. When he first visits in the hospital hold HIM right away don't be holding the baby when he comes in. They are close enough in age they will grow up being great friends! congratulations!

  • Congratulations! However, you really do need to make him a part of it all. After all; he still will be a baby and will still require as much attention as he received before the baby became a part of the family.
