Want to know why teens need more sleep?

  • That is really nice to post, thank you. My daughter is almost 13 and has been sleeping during the day and trying to stay up at night. Not even the nurse could give me this much info. I was just told they did the same thing at this age.

  • I KNOW teens need more sleep and this is why my children all had set bedtimes as teenagers. I never let them stay up as late as they wanted in middle school and high school.

  • Right. I am always on my kids to get to bed, while their friends stay up until 2 in the morning or later, especially now that it's summer!! There is more growth hormone made by the body between 10 pm and 12 pm, while you are asleep, and it's a key element in keeping the body healthy!
