13 mo old still does not hug us?

Is this normal? Shouldn't he be hugging by now?

  • I'm not sure if it's abnormal or not, but my kids never "hugged" or "kissed" us until they were around 18 months.

  • My 18 month old wont say Says daddy all the time. Som times babies just arent cuddly. Just offer them anyways.. he will catch on.

  • If other milestones are present and accounted for, then don't worry about it. Babies come around at their own rate.

  • Don't worry about it, mama! I can't remember when my son started doing it...he's 16 months now and hugs us now. But I think it might even be more of a "run up and pick me up" type of hug more than an actual hug! He makes eye contact with you and seems "social" for his age right? He smiles at you and "babbles" and things like that? If he's doing all that, don't worry about it! If he's not, you might want to mention it to your doctor.
