Laundry basket gift for new homeowners/newlyweds?

I have often thought of doing a laundry basket full of things you ALWAYS need around the house(paper towels, dish soap, hand soap, dish rags, towels, etc etc.)
WOuld it be too lame? Or the best gift?

  • The BEST gift!!! This is what I'm gonna do for my friends when they close on a house. My mom did it for me when we got a place and I was so excited!

  • We did this for my nephew & his g/f for thier wedding shower, they loved it. I think this was the most popular gift at their shower.

  • That is an excellent gift. I do things like this for housewarming gifts as well. A nice basket and towels, napkins, a cute cutting board, soap, and other little essentials are always appreciated and a really creative gift.

  • I do this for a lot of my friends! I find out what their favorite dish soap, laundry soap, fabric softener are and then add in some hand towels, dish towels, clothes pins, and other things of that nature!

  • I got one of these at my wedding shower and loved it. My aunt put laundry soap, dish soap, hand soap, fabric softner, a fire extinquisher, dish towels, cleaning scrubber-sponges, and windex in our basket. We hadn't even thought of half that stuff and the fire extinquisher was great!
Awesome idea, not lame at all!
