  • I think it is nice to pass on family names. I am not a big fan of either I am afraid though. The middle name won't be too bad as people often don't reveal their midle names. However, I thinki jimi is too much of a boys name for a girl.

  • There are other - better - ways to honor family members. This? I don't care for it, not at all.

  • I think it sounds like a rock star name :) Won't it get confusing, though, having your DH and DD both named Jimmy?
I don't think gender has anything to do with it really... I've met boys named Leslie, Morgan, Cary, and Stacy, and I work with a woman named Shawn and have a niece named Jordan. It's no different than Billie Holiday or Toni Braxton.
Perhaps you can alter it a little bit and go with Jaime, which can be a nickname for someone named James, and it more unisex.

  • My neice is named Charlize. They call her Charlie.
I think she will be well recieved as jimi. Though, you realize it's different and she may hear things from other kids that could be mean sometime. That goes w/having an unusual name.
