What do you put in your homemade chilli?

Just wondering, I always make it the same way, with kidney beans(light and dark) chilli powder, brown sugar, onions, peppers, 1/2 can v8 and 1 can tomato juice, chopped tomatoes, and green chillis.
Just wanted to mix it up a little, so What do you use?

  • Yes, secret ingredient is sugar. Just a tad.

  • I like to make veggie chili, its so good for you and diet friendly, I use those Boca crumbles instead of beef, lots of garlic, onion, red and green peppers, mushrooms, zucchini, light and red kidney beans, chili seasonings.... When not dieting, or if making a pot for a gathering, I do pretty much the same but use beef, then top with cheddar cheese, white onion, sour cream.... yum. Loves me some chili.

  • Kidney beans, onion, tomatos/paste, garlic, green peppers, a small amount of chili powder. It gets too spicy to use a lot. No brown sugar. And hamburger of course. Sometimes I'll use veggie burger. Makes it a little more healthy.

1 (15-ounce) can white (cannellini) beans, rinsed and drained
1 (15-ounce) can red kidney beans, rinsed and drained
1 cup frozen baby lima beans or regular lima beans or corn
    1 cup chopped onion
1/2 green bell pepper, seeded and chopped
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    1 can tomato paste
2 tablespoons chili powder, or more to taste
2 tablespoons dried Mexican oregano or regular oregano (or more to taste)
2 teaspoons ground cumin (or more to taste)
1 teaspoon ground coriander (or more to taste)
