What are angels?

Now, even though we all say when our loved ones die, they become angels, I don't think that this is so.

Where do angels come from or do you believe that they don't exist?

  • i am a Christian! angels are an entirely different order of being than human...angels will never become, and never were, human beings. God created angels, just as He created humanity...angels are spiritual beings that can take on physical form...humans are primarily physical beings with a spiritual aspect...the greatest thing we can learn from the holy angels is their total obedience to God’s commands.

  • I'm not a Christian. However, I'm pretty sure the general belief is that Angels are a completely different race of creation than humans. Even those Christians who believe they will ascend to heaven upon death don't tend to believe they will become Angels, just that they will be in "spirit" form among the angels.

As for me, I do believe in "Angels." However I don't believe in them the same way as Christians/Jews/Muslims. I see them as a "Higher Being" from a spiritual plane, but not Gods... They are to me, one of the MANY spiritual creatures out there, but due to the high amount of sightings by people from all faiths throughout history, it's impossible for me to discount their existence.

  • They are God's messengers.

  • I don't believe angels exist, but if they DO, the Bible makes it seem as though they're a different species completely, so I wouldn't believe that we become angels.

  • They are Spirits, some may have been born and lived on Earth for a time.

  • The only angels I believe in are the ones right here on earth. They are the good, kind an dloving people one encounters on a daily basis.. They put another's needs before their own and will do what they can to help. There is nothing supernatural about them, just people with good hearts.

  • I believe Angels are God's messengers and are here and are among us as we go about our day and are here to protect God's children.

  • Angels are spiritual beings without physical bodies that have free will just like we do. They are intelligent beings just like us. When we die and if we make it to heaven we will not be angels for after the final judgement of al,l we will have glorified bodies while the Angels will still be purely spiritual. They are messengers and protectors.

  • In Judaism, angels are G-d's messengers and as such they have no free will and can only follow G-d's will. And no, when we die we don't turn into angels. Angels are angels, humans are humans.

  • The angels that I know are purely spirit beings and have never been incarnated at all. Family members have been known to become spirit guides and certainly they visit and watch out for the family that they have left behind.
