How To Properly Deal With DD's Middle Child Complex?

I have four daughters and my second/middle daughter is having a bad "middle child" melt down! She is 14. I am a first born so have no clue what she is feeling! Any Advice?

  • I am a middle child. Honestly--just stand firm. Keep the rules the same for her as for everyone else. Please do not let the Middle child complex she is having get in the way of raising her. Being the middle child will not get in the way of her having a successful future--as much as she might try to convince you other wise.

  • Maybe take her out and do something special that is just the two of you.

  • Why do you label her behavior and contribute it to being the 'middle child'?

Without knowing any thing other than your daughter is 14, there really is not much advice that can be given.

Every situation, every child, is different.

I have three girls, ages 18, almost 16 and 10.

  • Just be fair and firm and ignore the melt downs.
