coping with dairy-free

I just found out through a food allergy test that I am intolerant to whey. So therefore i cannot have milk or milk products. Does anyone have any good resources to recommend: books, websites, cookbooks, cafemom groups. Help. I cannot stop thinking about pizza and cheese!!!

  • Oh I'm allergies suck! Just know that once you have "detoxed" your body from all dairy you will feel so much better and the cravings will go away! Hit up your local health food store and they will be able to guide you in the right direction. Best of Luck!

  • when you detox, you feel like absolute shit. Drink plenty of water.

There are so many other "Cheese" options, including nut cheeses (which taste better than cows!), and goats/sheep milk. It's not hard at all to replace, or eliminated dairy. We're a dairy free household.

  • We are almost dairy by choice and my hubby and son b/c they have to...I just don't like milk and cheese so it never phased me to quit...but my hubby and son do a lot of goat milk and cheese...I can't stand it tho! They also drink almond milk and coconut milk. You will feel like "shit" as your body goes through this. I had to detox my son when he first turned two...he would literally lay on the kitchen floor and scream for cheese!
