How do you get the smell of onions off of your hands?

I sliced onions yesterday and I can still smell them, I've washed and washed them but they still smell like onioins. I've cut onions before but for some reason the smell lingered on me.

  • I've heard that rubbing your hands on stainless steal will get rid of the smell, but I haven't tried it.

  • I use hand sanitizer. The alcohol smell takes the onion smell away. Then, I put on a nice scented lotion. Good luck!

  • When i worked at a coney we used to squeeze a bunch of lemon slices in our hands after we cut onions or make tunafish salad. It worked pretty good.
