How much should I be charging?

Wondering how much you think I should be charging. I am watching 2 girls that are potty trained. one is 3 years old the other is 4 years old. I watch them in my home. I am not a licensed day care I am just a babysitter. I baby sit 730am to 530pm monday through friday every other week. I provide snack but mom provides lunch. How much do you think I should charge..be specific like per child and such. thanks

  • $80 per child per week, or approximately 80% of what a licensed center providing all meals would charge where you live.

I pay $100 per child per week where breakfast, luch, and snack are provided.

  • I would say $100 a week per child. Unless they are siblings then I would charge $150 a week.

  • Either of the above sounds fair- $100 or $125 and a reduced amount for a sibling. If they are from two separate families, then $100 a week since you wouldn't be giving one your full attention.

  • I would say, since they are siblings, charging 4 dollars an hour, maybe 5, depending on what minimum wage is in your area. This would give you about 400 dollars a month.

  • I think you should take into account what the going rate is where you live. If centers are charging $300 per week then $100 per week would be significantly underpriced, but if centers are charging only $100 per week then $100 without meals might be a bit high.

  • well centers for their age are $130-150 a week per child plus registration fees and deposits. so that is like $250-300 a week for both that includes meals
