My daughter is just over 4 weeks old...and I'm still bleeding. Nothing to greatly heavy, but still. Is this normal? or should I call my Dr.

  • It's normal to bleed for 6 weeks as long as you're not passing clots the size of golfballs (TMI I know but that's exactly what my Doctor told me to look out for). If you do that then call the Doctor right away.

  • I think I bled for longer than that, but if you are truly concerned, you should call your doctor.

  • I bled that long with my 1st dd. I bled for about 5 weeks I think and then I got my period, so it was quite awhile

  • I wouldn't worry yet. I seemed like right when I should stop bleeding from the child birth, I would start my period. If you are really concerned just call and check with the doctor.

  • I went for the full 6 weeks with all three of my children.

  • 6 weeks is "the norm." If you were still bleeding at 7 weeks you might bring it up.

If you develop an odor/infection be sure to call in sooner.
